Noesis at the Forefront of Cybersecurity

Noesis reinforced its cybersecurity positioning by closely following the challenges organizations across industries are currently facing

Participating for the first time in the IT Security Summit, Noesis joined as a Gold Sponsor in an event focused on today’s cybersecurity landscape — more demanding, more interconnected, and increasingly critical for organizations.

Held on April 14 at Tivoli Kopke Porto Gaia, the event, organized by the Media Next group, brought together over 300 participants, 42 speakers, 22 sessions, and 32 partners, in an edition that sold out more than a month in advance. Beyond the numbers, it stood out as a space for professionals to share experiences dealing daily with growing regulatory demands, risk management, and execution challenges.

Throughout the day, it became clear that cybersecurity is no longer an isolated function but an integral part of organizations’ daily operations. Responsibility now extends beyond technical teams to the entire organization, in a collective effort to ensure resilience and business continuity.

Within this context, Noesis took part in a Fireside Chat titled “Critical Infrastructures Under Pressure: How Security Leaders Respond”, featuring Nuno Cândido, IT Operations, Cloud & Security Associate Director at Noesis, alongside Miguel Gonçalves, CISO at CUF, and Nuno Goes, Cyber Security & Risk Expert at EDP.

The discussion highlighted the gap between risk perception and the actual level of preparedness to respond to increasingly sophisticated threats. Over the past year, risk has shifted from a distant possibility to a daily reality, driven by geopolitical tensions, the rise of ransomware, and the growing complexity of supply chains.

In the healthcare sector, this shift is particularly evident. Digital transformation has brought significant gains in efficiency and patient experience, but it has also expanded the attack surface. More distributed environments, with cloud-based applications, remote access, and connected devices, require an integrated security approach — one that is embedded across the organization rather than treated as a set of isolated controls.

In critical infrastructure environments, less visible issues, such as digital certificate lifecycle management, have become more relevant. In a context of increasing regulatory requirements and the need to ensure operational continuity, visibility and control over these elements are essential to mitigate often underestimated risks.

The discussion also reinforced the importance of aligning technology, processes, and organizational culture to promote a more integrated and resilient approach to today’s cybersecurity challenges.
