Noesis Joins 15-Year Panel at Testing Portugal

Noesis took part in a panel discussing the evolution and future of software testing in the country

On November 25, Noesis took part in Testing Portugal 2025the country's largest Software Testing conference, organized by PSTQB. This year's edition held special significance as it marked the 15th anniversary of the event, celebrating the promotion of best practices, certification, and the continuous evolution of Quality Assurance (QA) within the national technology ecosystem.

As a PSTQB Diamond-Level Corporate Member, Noesis joined the panel "15 Years of Testing in Portugal! Past, Present and Future," which brought together representatives from the four organizations with Diamond status — Axians, Siemens, Inetum, and Noesis — in a discussion moderated by Joel Oliveira, PSTQB founder and current Chairman of the General Assembly. The session revisited the development of software testing in Portugal, from its early stages to today's more mature and automated practices, while also exploring the skills and challenges expected to shape the years ahead.

Representing Noesis, Paulo Carlos, Head of Quality Management CoEx, highlighted the profound transformation of the tester's role over the past fifteen years. In his words,"we stopped being just 'the ones who find defects' and became a central part of delivering software with confidence." He emphasized that while the Portuguese market already masters modern testing practices, it remains essential to move beyond superficial outcomes and adopt approaches that focus on real impact.

During his intervention, Paulo Carlos also noted that the rise of Agile and DevOps methodologies has brought testing closer to the delivery pipeline, increasing both expectations and complexity. He emphasized that Noesis has been actively supporting this evolution: "At Noesis, we continue to accelerate this shift with a complete offering — from manual functional testing, automation, and quality environment management to performance and cognitive QA — ensuring that quality keeps pace with the business at maximum speed."

The discussion then progressed to the role of Artificial Intelligence and GenAI in the future of testing. According to Paulo Carlos, these technologies do not replace testers; instead, they reinforce the need for a more strategic contribution. He believes the future of testing will be "intelligent, continuous, and deeply human. Fewer scripts, more brain — that's what makes us truly indispensable."

As a PSTQB Diamond-Level Corporate Member, Noesis remains committed to strengthening the sector's maturity, promoting structured quality practices, continuous innovation, and the development of professionals driving the future of software testing in Portugal.
