Noesis has partnered with the Associação Portuguesa do Lixo Marinho (APLM) to support the Lixo Marinho “app”, an innovative platform that turns litter collection into an engaging and motivating experience with real environmental impact.
Developed by researchers from Centro de Ciências do Mar e do Ambiente (MARE) at the Universidade de Coimbra, in collaboration with APLM, this app allows users to map and record marine litter along Portuguese beaches, promoting more sustainable habits and raising awareness about the importance of protecting our oceans.
The launch event for the app, featuring a new version developed in partnership with jeKnowledge, the Junior Enterprise of the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologias da Universidade de Coimbra, will take place on October 27 at Praia do Relógio, in Figueira da Foz. The event will bring together students, educational institutions, and local organizations for an educational and fun experience focused on the conscious collection of waste.
From October 20 to November 20, APLM will also host a Walkathon, inviting everyone to walk for the cause and contribute to cleaner beaches and oceans.
