IBM Technology Summit Porto: Innovation and Real-World Challenges at the Center of the Discussion

In an event that highlighted quantum computing, Noesis emphasized the role of data management and FinOps solutions in transforming complexity into tangible value for organizations

On September 23, the Terminal de Cruzeiros do Porto de Leixões in Matosinhos hosted the IBM Technology Summit Porto, organized by Arrow in collaboration with IBM and its Business Partners. Noesis attended the summit, which brought together experts, customers, and partners to discuss the key trends shaping digital transformation.

The opening session was led by Ricardo Martinho, President of IBM Portugal, who emphasized the company's commitment to areas such as quantum computing, anticipating a competitive edge as early as 2026, and highlighted the importance of integrating new tools openly and responsibly. Throughout a diverse agenda, the event also addressed topics such as automation and cloud security, digital sustainability, asset management, and Hybrid Cloud.

One of the standout moments was the presentation by João Martins, Data Analytics & AI Senior Manager at Noesis, titled "How to Succeed in FinOps and Data Management with IBM." The session explored how companies are navigating the growing complexity of data management, characterized by the coexistence of legacy systems and the increasing demand for real-time information. To demonstrate the potential of IBM StreamSets, real-world use cases were presented, showcasing how this technology enables more agile, efficient, and customer-oriented processes, ultimately transforming complexity into measurable value.

According to João Martins, the event went beyond technology by consistently placing business challenges at the heart of the discussion: "The IBM Technology Summit Porto stood out for the way IBM demonstrated its market positioning, addressing areas such as FinOps, Data, Governance, and Artificial Intelligence holistically. The entire technology stack was presented in response to real organizational challenges, not just from an IT perspective" he explained.

In addition, the Senior Manager highlighted the focus on governance issues, both in terms of data and Artificial Intelligence models, as one of the event's distinguishing features. "It's a real 'sweet spot' where IBM is positioning itself with great success" said the Noesis manager, adding that the most significant added value of the meeting was the ability to address the main challenges facing organizations across the board in a single day, without restricting the discussion to a single topic.

Noesis' participation further reinforced its positioning as IBM Partner of the Year, showcasing its expertise in helping companies turn complex challenges into concrete success stories through innovative Data Management and FinOps solutions.
