Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Belonging

Recognizing the initiatives and collaborations that have contributed to creating a more inclusive workplace and society, in alignment with our long-term diversity and equity goals.

At Noesis, Diversity Month is more than just a date on the calendar, it’s a celebration of who we are and what we stand for. It’s also a moment to recognize the initiatives and collaborations that contribute to a more inclusive and diverse society. This year, our Diversity Month capped off a full month dedicated to supporting organizations that champion gender equality, education, and empowerment.

Here’s a closer look at the initiatives we proudly supported throughout the month:

  • Geek Girls Portugal – We continued our collaboration with Geek Girls Portugal, a pioneering community that promotes gender diversity in technology. Their mission is to create a safe and encouraging space for women in tech to connect, learn, and grow. Through meetups, talks, and mentoring, Geek Girls helps break down barriers and inspires more women to enter, and stay in, STEM fields. Our support reinforces our belief that the tech industry is stronger when it includes a range of voices and perspectives. As part of this collaboration, we hosted a Geek Girls meetup at our Coimbra office on May 15th, creating a space for open discussion, networking, and inspiration.

  • PWN Lisbon (Professional Women’s Network) - As proud supporters of PWN Lisbon, we joined their mission to drive gender-balanced leadership. This global network provides mentoring programs, leadership development workshops, and high-impact events that help women advance in their careers. PWN’s work aligns with our internal goals to nurture diverse talent pipelines and ensure everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of gender.

  • Girls for Girls - This global mentoring movement aims to equip young women with the skills and confidence to take on leadership roles in their communities and careers. Girls for Girls pairs mentors and mentees in powerful relationships that foster personal growth, purpose-driven leadership, and mutual learning. We believe in the power of mentorship, and supporting Girls for Girls allows us to be part of a ripple effect that empowers the next generation of women changemakers. Our participation in this initiative is supported through sponsorship with UPNDO, a platform where every step, walk, or run contributes to donations for NGOs. With UPNDO, we’re ensuring that this mentorship program continues to reach more young women and empower them globally.

  • EmpowHER - A platform dedicated to supporting women’s growth in the workplace by promoting equal opportunity, visibility, and leadership development. This initiative focuses on building inclusive environments where women are not just present, they are heard, respected, and elevated. Through workshops, speaker series, and community-building, EmpowHER encourages more equitable workplaces, something we continuously strive for within our own organization. This year, our very own Olga Carvalho, from IT Operations, Cloud & Security, took part in the event, sharing her personal and professional journey with university students, an inspiring moment that reflected the power of representation and mentorship.

  • Technovation Girls - This global tech education initiative invites girls aged 10–18 to learn the skills needed to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders. Participants work in teams to identify a problem in their community and build a mobile app to solve it, guided by mentors and educators. Technovation Girls helps close the gender gap in STEM by giving young girls hands-on experience with real-world impact. Our involvement helps nurture the innovators of tomorrow and shows them that their ideas matter. We supported this year’s edition by offering a programming workshop to the families of our employees, encouraging the next generation of tech enthusiasts. Additionally, we were proud to sponsor a team of young girls mentored by Noesis professionals, and we are now eagerly awaiting the results of this international competition.

This month has been a reminder that diversity is not just about representation, it’s about action. From empowering women in tech and leadership to mentoring future changemakers, these initiatives inspire us to keep moving forward. We are proud of the steps we’ve taken this month, and we know there’s more work to do. Diversity Month may come once a year, but our commitment to inclusion is ongoing, every single day. Our efforts are also aligned with the European Union’s broader mission to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across member states. Contributing to this shared vision strengthens not only our organization but society as a whole.

In addition, we recognize the importance of mental health as a key pillar of inclusion. Fostering a culture where people feel safe, supported, and mentally well is essential to building workplaces where everyone can thrive. And in June, we’ll be participating in a special workshop in collaboration with GIRA, focused on “Best Practices for Internet Security”. This initiative is a great opportunity to raise awareness about online safety and reinforce our collective responsibility to create a safer digital environment for all.

Here’s to building a workplace, and a world, where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.
